Middlefield Bible Church desires that everyone come to a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ. Faith in Christ is the only way that a person can have the assurance that his soul will go to Heaven when he dies. Consider the following basic truths of the Gospel:
- All have sinned against a Holy God. The Bible, God’s Word, teaches, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
- All lost sinners are going to a burning hell. “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.” (Revelation 21:8)
- Jesus Christ, God’s Son, died to pay for the sins of the world. “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” (Romans 5:8)
- All must confess and receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised Him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” (Romans 10:9)
- Believers in Christ can rejoice in knowing for sure that their souls will go to Heaven when they die.“These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God: that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” (I John 5:13)
